  Q. Do the local residents use your restaurant to any extent?
Can you tell that they are local people?
       A. It is very difficult to; I know from working in that
area that we have seen local residents in our restaurants
with their children or with their families. I could not
give you a percentage on how many customers would use it
from the local community. We have seen a few local
celebrities in the store that live in Chelsea.

  Q. Do you know personally, have you met personally, some of
the local residents that have made complaints about your
       store?
       A. Yes, I have, yes.

  Q. For example, have you met a Mr. Ian McIntyre?
       A. To my knowledge, no, I have not met him; I may have in
passing but I do not recall the name.

  Q. You do not recognise the name?
       A. No.

  Q. Have you read the statement which he made for the purposes
of this case on behalf of the Defendants?
       A. Yes, I have.

MR. MORRIS: Can I just say, it is Colin McIntyre. It is Colin
Ian McIntyre, but it is "Colin".

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Does that make any difference? Do you
recognise a Colin McIntyre by name?
       A. No, I do not, sir.

MR. RAMPTON: How do you deal, Mr. Stump, with the problem which
may exist in greater or less degree of environment/index.html">litter generated by
customers who buy meals at McDonald's to take-away and then
dump the packaging on the street or in somebody's garden or
in their basement area, things of that kind? How do you in
your capacity cope with that question, that issue?
       A. We have set up what I would call a system to try to
ensure that the environment/index.html">litter does not become a problem in the
local community. The main form of defence is trash walks.

  Q. Describe trash walks in as much detail as you can, please.
First of all, by whom are the trash walks done?
       A. In the restaurant there is one person responsible for
the dining area. He is called the dining area host. He
has up to six people working in the dining area with him at
any time, and it is his responsibility to delegate either
himself or another person in the dining area to complete a
trash walk. This involves following a trash walk map which
has a section of the area round about the restaurant.

  Q. Pause there. Taking the ordinary trash walk organised in
the way you have just described and picking up your map,
what is the area covered by the ordinary trash walk
organised by the dining floor manager?
       A. The main area, they would come out of the restaurant
and they would go down Royal Avenue.
