12 A. No, it is a very similar length of time.

14 Q. When it gets to the restaurant, as you say, frozen, are any
15 checks made to see what its temperature is?
16 A. Yes. There are checks are made, firstly, at the
17 distribution centre when the products are delivered there
18 by the supplier.

20 Q. I was going to go backwards. Take the restaurant first of
21 all: Does anybody check at the restaurant to see what the
22 temperature is?
23 A. Yes, there is a check that is made and documented at
24 the restaurant before all deliveries.

27 A. For all deliveries.

29 Q. What is the method by which the checking is done?
30 A. The temperature checks are done by way of a digital
31 thermometer. A bag of product is opened and the
32 temperature taken and recorded.

35 A. On every single delivery to the restaurant. The
36 delivery will not be accepted if it is outside the
37 temperature ranges.

39 Q. Take a container with -- I do not mean a lorry -- I mean a
40 package with, let us say, 10-1 patties in it, what sort of
41 size of container are we talking about?
42 A. Sorry, are you talking about the box in which the
43 burgers arrive?

46 delivered to the restaurant by Golden West?
47 A. OK. We are talking about something of similar size
48 really to the box that is on there -- slightly lower but a
49 similar volume, yes.

52 testing the temperature do to test the temperature of the
53 product in the box?
54 A. The boxes are opened. We usually identify the chicken
55 as the best product to take the temperature because inside
56 the boxes are -- the chicken is packaged in plastic bags so
57 you can actually take the product temperature through the
58 plastic bag without actually contacting the food material.
