Day 110 - 29 Mar 95 - Page 07

They had connections with the media. They were very active
campaigners and it was their intention to use the
       photographs for a leafleting campaign.

  Q. Did their leaflet ever come to be?
       A. Yes, it did, yes.

  Q. Did it have any of the photographs taken on that day?
       A. It did, yes.

  Q. Do you have a copy?
       A. I do not. I was not involved with Co-ordinating Animal
Welfare itself. The group is based in Bristol, and at the
time I was living in Hertfordshire.

  Q. When did you last hear of it operating if, indeed, it does
       not still operate now?
       A. I cannot say for sure, but it might well still be
       operating in Bristol.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, I am conscious that there have been some
photographs disclosed, but not simply of the inside of
broilers houses at Sun Valley, but I think, in some senses,
the exterior. What I was wondering, and that is why
I asked Miss Wallis whether she knew what had happened to
the photographs, whether they were the same ones or not,
because then they might be useful to look at but not
otherwise -- only the Defendants would know that; I cannot
       tell.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where are they at the moment?

MR. RAMPTON: I do not know where they are.

MS. STEEL: I do not know whether you want my assistance on this
       matter or not?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, the point is this -- one may as well be
totally open about it -- if there are available or
obtainable photographs taken on that day, it obviously
might help. That is the full extent of it.

MS. STEEL: I will assist with what I know -- you do not want me
       to?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I would like you to in a moment. Shall we
       just look at the -----

MR. RAMPTON: Your Lordship may be better at this than I am; the
       only ones we have ------

MS. STEEL: They are not the ones.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you help in relation to it?

MS. STEEL: There were some photographs. I actually contacted
Co-ordinating Animal Welfare in 1991, and asked them if
they had any photographs still available. In fact, I did
not contact the organisation. I spoke to somebody from the
organisation. They sent me a photocopy of some photographs
