Day 148 - 05 Jul 95 - Page 18
was a question.

Then she was again asked: "How to hire them, how to fire
them, how to do the performance reviews, how to organise
the rap sessions?" She said: "Right. It is more the
organisational part of what they would do in terms of their
management skills, if you like." "... it is more the
organisational and administrative", and, as far as I can
see, that would be -- the complete manual would be totally
relevant to the employment practices section. They are all
matters which have been aired in the court and are issues
in the case.

The next thing I wanted to ask for, I am hoping you will
remember because I cannot actually remember, I have not my
copy of the document with me.

MR. RAMPTON: I will tell your Lordship where it is. I will
give the reference. It is document C behind the statement
which is volume X, tab 7 at the bottom. I will read it out
to save everybody else getting it out. At the bottom of
the key to the Crew Termination Code what it says is (it is
number 34): "Other termination codes 34 maternity (see
attached memo)". We will have a look at it and see if it
is relevant and, if it is, we will disclose it.

MS. STEEL: Maternity is relevant to the issue of Sarah Baker's
dismissal, the way she was treated when she became pregnant
and, effectively, constructively dismissed. She is a
witness of ours. She has confirmed that she is coming to
court.

The next one is fairly simple. It is the questions for the
crew survey that we saw. We saw the answers for them.
I just thought it would be appropriate to have a copy of
the actual survey, the questionnaire that goes to the
employees so that we can see what the exact questions are.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Could you just make sure I have the
right document? Refer me to the actual survey you have
in mind because I think we have more than one now.

MS. STEEL: I think again that is behind Ms. Mead's statement.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I would like you to identify the specific one
there.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, the document is "H" behind Ms. Mead's
statement.

MS. STEEL: I think there are four pages of it.

MR. RAMPTON: No, there are three pages of it, as far as I am
aware. Yes, there are three pages; one is the answers to
the questions; one is the completion of that and a bar
chart and the last is the answers graded according to
response.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I wonder whether you had something else in
mind? Are you suggesting there will be more than the
