Day 148 - 05 Jul 95 - Page 29

MR. MORRIS: I do not have it. I should not have to have a
transcript reference because it has already been the
subject of an application and ruling.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Unless you are the Brain of Britain, you
cannot remember over the months while this case has lasted,
just what was said and ruled upon. What I suggest you do
        -----

MR. MORRIS: I will just check the ruling; you probably made it
       in your ruling.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I may well have done. Have a look over lunch
       and come back to that.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. So that was the Guatemala map and there is
       one -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I want you to find and give me the
reference. If it was in a ruling, you need only give me
the ruling. If it was a discussion, then I need the
       transcript page.

MS. STEEL: There is one other employment thing which was
Mr. Stein went on about documents, about part-time crew
being part of this profit sharing scheme. As far as I can
see, there is absolutely nothing in the documents about
       that, so -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You are saying any documentation in relation
to the existence or terms of any profit sharing scheme?

  MS. STEEL: For part-timers ----

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: For anyone?

MS. STEEL: Yes, which specifies who is entitled to actually be
a part of it. For crew, that is, rather than for part-time
staff who might work at the Head Office, or something like
that. The final set of documents I want to apply for which
I mentioned yesterday was the notes of the spies that
attended the London Greenpeace meetings and events.

MR. RAMPTON: We are in open court, my Lord. I do not believe
that Ms. Steel, except when she is calling evidence, is
       entitled to call them "spies".

  MS. STEEL:  "Private investigators", if it upsets you that much;
it comes down to the same thing.

MR. RAMPTON: I do not see any reason why she should be
insulting. It does not upset me in the very least.

MR. MORRIS: If it is insulting that they are spies -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have said before several times, if you use
unnecessary emotive language all it does is cause little
spats or digressions and so on and a few more seconds or
       minutes tick by.
