Day 155 - 14 Jul 95 - Page 25

people at a time from your crew would go to the rap
       sessions?
       A. About 20.

  Q. How often would the rap sessions be held?
       A. Every six months.

  Q. Normally speaking, who would conduct them?
       A. An independent Supervisor.

  Q. Would you know the names of the people that went to the rap
       sessions?
       A. Yes, I would.

  Q. Did any Area Supervisor, an independent person, as you call
it, from outside your area ever tell you what any
individual member of the crew had said about you or any of
       your Managers?
       A. No, they were not allowed to.

  Q. But they might have done so even if they were not allowed
       to?
       A. They did not.

  Q. When you held rap sessions as an Area Supervisor, did you
take 20 people at a time or was it less?
       A. Less, less. The majority of times I had maybe a
       maximum of 10 people.

  Q. What sorts of things would be discussed at a rap session
       when you held them?
       A. Generally, nearly everything about the restaurant, you
know, performance reviews, up-to-date training, is it being
done, Managers' job knowledge, commitment, attitude,
maintenance and repair of the entire restaurant, just the
       general well-being of the restaurant.

  Q. Were these topics you raised with them specifically?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You would ask questions, would you?
       A. Yes. You would open -- you would give open ended
questions, so you would get a lot of information from them.

  Q. Would you ask them, for example, whether they were
satisfied with their hours of work or their scheduling?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Would you ask them whether they were satisfied with the
frequency and the quality of their performance reviews?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Would you ask them whether they thought they were being
       paid enough?
       A. Yes.

  Q. How often -- again I am not asking obviously for any
accurate kind of figure -- roughly speaking, as between
never and sometimes, quite a lot and always, would people
make a complaint about their working conditions?
