Day 182 - 02 Nov 95 - Page 10
Q. OK. "... and the Manager, Rein Orbo, often made jokes
about the union. Manager, Wenche Berget, called me a
'drittsekk'" -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You had better say what that means.

MR. MORRIS: I think that has probably now gone into the English
language.

MR. RAMPTON: I would still like to know what it means. It is
not part of my language.

THE WITNESS: That is "a shit bag".

MR. MORRIS: Right. "... and claimed that I was only in the
union to get power for myself.

"All in all, I must say that McDonald's have been hostile
towards HRAF and towards the members of the union.

"The contents of this statement are to the best of my
knowledge true."

I cannot remember the date, actually, that -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I was going to ask the date,

MR. MORRIS: 5th March, 1995. That is that number at the
bottom, is it not? So you verify that as your ---
A. Yes.

Q. -- evidence, as from what you signed in March 1995?
A. Yes.

Q. I will try to do this in some kind of systematic way. You
say that you are the union rep of your store and for all
hotel and catering workers (not chefs and waiters) in the
union in the Oslo area?
A. Yes.

Q. Do you have any role nationally as regards McDonald's
workers, union members at McDonald's?
A. Not officially. The only -- I have been working at
McDonald's for seven years, so I have been one of those who
worked there the longest; and, since, I have been involved
in most of the union activity at other restaurants, through
talking to the other union members, in the capacity of
being a representative for the HRAF, or that particular
association of the HRAF. So I have been involved in all
the different conflicts.

Q. Moving on to the second paragraph -- you did disclose some
documents with your statement originally. Without relying
on the documents, you were working at the store where the
closers were dismissed, were you?
A. Yes. Well, these closers were working at different
restaurants, the restaurants where we later reached an
agreement.

Q. Right.
