Day 183 - 03 Nov 95 - Page 09

Q. There was a clamp down on that?
A. There was a complete clamp down on the whole store, not
just on actual working practices as what you could actually
take your lunch and things like that as well.

MS. STEEL: You mean the meal allowance?
A. Yes, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just so there is no doubt, you are saying
about the middle of your period there?
A. Yes.

Q. There was a visit by someone senior?
A. Yes, Terry Eagle, I think his name was.

Q. Terry Ignall?
A. Eagle. He was coming back and forwards.

Q. Did the working after 10.00 p.m. stop then?
A. Yes, it did. He must have said something -- I am not
sure whether he knew but they are not silly; they might
have known something.

Q. Yes.

MS. STEEL: I think that is it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: There is one thing I would like to ask.
Could you tell me how old Mr. Cassey was and how old
Mr. O'Brian was, about?
A. Sorry, I would not know, sorry.

Q. I mean, were they hobbling around on walking sticks?
A. No, sorry. I suppose late 20s/early 30s.

Q. Both of them?
A. I would say Mr. Cassey was a bit younger.

Q. What, he was sort of late 20s?
A. Yes, middle 20s.

Q. Middle 20s?
A. Yes.

Q. And Mr. Cassey late 20s?
A. No, that was Mr. Cassey. Mr. Chris O'Brian was late
20s/early 30s, as far as I remember.

Q. Yes, thank you.

Cross-examined by MR. RAMPTON

MR. RAMPTON: I only have one question. It is not a challenge
in any way to Mrs. Baker's evidence. (To the witness):
Can I ask (and this is not simply prying, Mrs. Baker), was
your boyfriend the Keith Baker that is coming later on in
this case to give evidence or is that somebody completely
different?
A. He was my boyfriend, yes.
