Day 204 - 15 Jan 96 - Page 07

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am sorry, you must keep your voice up.
       A. I am sorry.

  Q. There is no need to apologise. When you are being asked a
question by Ms. Steel, it is only natural to answer to her,
but it means it is difficult for me to hear. Could you
       give me that answer again?
       A. Can you repeat the question, please?

  Q. You mentioned about the shake mix. Was that Ray Coton was
showing you how to water down the shake mix or you saw him
doing it? Your answer was recorded as: "I witnessed him
doing something in the cooler to that effect."
       A. That is right, yes.

MS. STEEL: Did you ask him what he was doing?
       A. No.

  Q. You did not ask him why he was watering down a shake mix?
       A. No.

  Q. So did you just consider it to be fairly normal?
       A. Not at all, no.

  Q. But you did not consider it to be -- well, did you report
       it to anybody?
       A. No.

  Q. So, you did not consider it to be so out of the ordinary
that you should take some kind of action, either by asking
Mr. Coton what he was doing or by reporting it to Mr. Davis
       or someone like that?
       A. No.

  Q. That was because it was normal practice, was it not?
       A. No, it was not.

  Q. It was not at all unusual and it had been going on under
Mark Davis's management as well, had it not?
       A. No, you are incorrect.

  Q. The cheese that was put on products, the slices were cut
into -- one part would be two-thirds and the other part
would be one-third; is that right?
       A. I do not understand. Sorry, no, I do not understand.

  Q. In products that had cheese served with them, the burgers
would have two-thirds of a slice and the fillet would have
       a third, would they not?
       A. No, you are wrong.

  Q. You never saw that happen then, are you saying, or you
       never did that yourself?
       A. No. The procedure was, and it was always followed: two
slices of cheese in a quarter cheese, a slice of cheese in
a cheese product, and you used to put half a slice of
cheese in a fillet-o-fish, but that was obviously the
       procedure.

  Q. Are you saying that you did not see -----
