Day 206 - 22 Jan 96 - Page 20
that we are trying to put people in for the 25th and
26th February or March, just so that the Plaintiffs do not
book anybody else in.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Who have you in mind for those dates?

MR. MORRIS: We have asked Howard Leimann to come on the 26th,
the ex-cattle rancher. He has not been confirmed yet. He
cannot come before that. Also, on the 25th we have asked
Colin Campbell if he can come. He made a new statement
some months ago, but that will be part of the discussion
about the nutrition evidence in any case. As they are both
in America, we wanted to give them plenty of time to test
their availability.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Dr. Campbell is on the topic of nutrition,
Mr. Leimann is not, but if you can fix any date for him to
get here, I suggest he be fitted in on that date,
Mr. Rampton, whatever else we are doing.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, yes. I have no objection to somebody
doing that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just let everyone know as soon as you can if
you confirm those dates or have other ones.

MR. MORRIS: Yes.

MR. RAMPTON: We will do our best to accommodate that, provided
we get sufficient notice because, if we have further
nutrition evidence, it will be from busy, professional
people and we need to know well in advance which days they
ought not come to court -- not at the last minute because
that will leave to confusion and difficulty.

MR. MORRIS: Can I say, the Plaintiffs have drawn up a schedule
entirely at their own convenience and our busy professional
------

MR. JUSTICE BELL: See if you cannot fix Mr. Campbell for the
25th, Dr. Campbell, and Mr. Liemann for the 26th, but let
us know absolutely as soon as possible. The point is you
may very well have a very, very strong case for calling
Dr. Campbell on the Monday, the 25th, if he can come
then ---

MR. MORRIS: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- but if it is not known until a week before
and by that time some clinician who would much rather be in
hospital than here has been fixed for that date, it may
have gone, do you understand?

MR. MORRIS: I understand that, but all I am saying is that
Mr. Rampton makes some snidey comment -- I know that we do
not need to deal with snidey comments -- about his
witnesses being busy, professional people, but I want to
say that Mr. Rampton's side has been fixing the schedule or
doing the drafts, and we have done our best to fit in as a
matter of convenience. We were never asked if we wanted
