10 MR. RAMPTON: Mr. Preston, first of all, as you heard, I have
11 given his Lordship some sheets from the Corporation's
12 Annual Report for 1995 which show the number of restaurants
13 in the world and in the United Kingdom by category.

15 Can you please help us? Take us up to today's date in
16 relation to the United Kingdom. First of all, if you can,
17 tell us the number of restaurants that McDonald's has in
18 this country?
19 A. 674.

21 Q. How many of those are franchised and how many are owned by
22 the Company?
23 A. 151 are franchised and the balance, I think 523, are
24 company owned.

30 A. I think it is 120 sir, about 120.
