     3   MR. MORRIS:  As I say, people can read the CV.  There is a
     4        reference to the Philippines in the middle of that first
     5        page, co-ordinating a US AID Technical Assistance Programme
     6        for a national nutrition programme for malnourished
     7        pre-school-aged children in the Philippines, 1966/1974.

     9        We know about the China Study.  Have you done research in
    10        other countries as well, apart from the USA, Philippines,
    11        Indonesia and China?
    12        A.  Yes; in Haiti, in Indonesia, primarily.

    14   Q.   Right.  If we look at point (c), it says that you were a
    15        co-author and member of the National Academy of Science's
    16        Expert Panels on Diet, Nutrition and Cancer, 1981 to 1983;
    17        and that was in the USA, yes?
    18        A.  Yes.

    20   Q.   Is this the publication?
         A.  Yes, it is.

    23   MR. MORRIS:   Right.  This is a book which we looked at in some
    24        detail earlier on in the case, if you remember that.

    32   MR. MORRIS:  (To the witness)  If you look at the last couple of
    33        sentences, it says that you presently co-chair an
    34        international panel of scientific experts who are
    35        researching dietary and nutritional policies concerning the
    36        dietary prevention of cancer worldwide.  Will there be any
    37        names on that panel we might be familiar with?
    38        A.  Yes, probably several people.  There are a total of
    39        14 numbers from 10 different countries.  One you might be
    40        familiar with is Professor Philip James, who was a director
         of the Rawa (?) Institute and who was also was the Chair of
    42        the WHO Report on diet and disease.

    44   Q.   That is this report here?
    45        A.  Yes.  Also, another member of that commission there too
    46        was Professor Arnoteralusi (?), from Italy; and she is on
    47        the panel that I co-chair.  Professor Willett from
    48        Harvard -----

    51        A.  Yes -- who has publishing a lot of material; and 
    52        I think you have some information here in your records 
    53        regarding his publications.

    55   Q.   He is on the committee that you are co-chairing?
    56        A.  Right; and Dr. Palmer, who was an executive director of
    57        the green book project with the National Academy of
    58        Sciences, was on that committee; and
    59        Professor Larry Kolonel who also was on that committee.
