  Q. Have you got any comment about the prevalence of these
       diseases at younger age ranges?
       A. Yes. When heart disease or cancer is particularly
prevalent in a society amongst, obviously, the older people
of the society, we then also tend to see a much higher
prevalence amongst the really middle ages, the 30 to 40 age
range; and so, very early, coronary heart events can occur
       in those age ranges.

  Q. You say "can". Is it happening or not happening in our
       modern societies?
       A. Well, it is. Early coronary events certainly are
higher in those countries that experience overall higher
       heart disease rates.

  Q. One further point: have you got any comment about diet in
relation to treatment of people with cancer of the breast
       or bowel or heart disease?
       A. Yes. This is actually one of the most exciting areas
that is now coming forth in our business, basically showing
that people even with very serious heart disease on
substantial amounts of pharmaceuticals or drugs, and are
not able in some cases to be able to walk; what we are
actually just discovering -- not me, myself, but my
colleagues -- are discovering that diet, dietary treatment
of these individuals with a low fat diet that is low in
animal products is capable of actually reversing these
diseases, and a very exciting possibility. There are some
very dramatics results that have been recently published on
       this point.

  Q. Do you have any comment about the wisdom or not of people
consuming, for example -- or the effects of eating, say,
two or three high fat/low fibre, et cetera, meals in a
       week?
       A. Yes. The data that we obtained from China, it was
pointed out, as you know from the earlier reading, where
diets range in fat intake on average from around six per
cent of calories to 24 per cent of calories, where diets,
in addition, range from those that contain almost little or
no animal-based foods to those that contain modest but
small amounts. In other words, we are talking about diets
that are in the low fat, low animal product sort of
       category.

  Q. That would be high fibre, as well?
       A. And high fibre, of course, much higher fibre intake
than here. In those kinds of diets, what we tend to see is
that the closer that we get to an all plant based diet, low
in fat, high in fibre, the lower are these diseases across
       the board.

  Q. Right. So, going back to my question about the -----
       A. So, yes. To go on on that, your questioning concerns,
you know, whether eating a meal like this two or three
times a week, I think you said -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Twice a week.
       A. Twice a week? OK. So, yes, I would say that that
