Day 260 - 11 Jun 96 - Page 09

Q. So you probably did not have a particularly good memory of
what was going on at the meetings, you know, without having
these notes to refresh your memory?
A. Some things, some moments I can remember quite clearly;
other moments, I have to refer to the report that I wrote
at the time.

Q. But in terms of remembering what was going on at a specific
meeting, you would have to rely on your notes?
A. Yes. I would not be able to remember a date for a
specific meeting.

Q. You mentioned yesterday about having a tape recorder where,
after the meetings, you dictated into it?
A. Yes.

Q. Was it always immediately after the meeting?
A. As I drove back to my base, yes.

Q. When you say "base", are you talking about home or the
office?
A. Wherever I was going after the meeting ended, yes.

Q. You did not go back to Kings to compile your reports?
A. The office would not have been open at that time of
night.

Q. You did not record what went on at the meetings on your
dictaphone?
A. Yes.

Q. I mean during the actual meeting?
A. I beg your pardon. No, no; at the end of the meeting.

Q. What about in terms of remembering things like who said
what; is that all from what you said at the end of the
meeting; you were not making notes during the meeting ---
A. No.

Q. -- keeping any other kind of record ---
A. Not during the meeting.

Q. -- contemporaneously?
A. No. The notes would have been -- the dictated notes
would have been made immediately after the meeting ended.

Q. You said that you were particularly told about myself and
Mr. Morris?
A. Yes.

Q. So, if we were present and if we had said something, you
would have made a note of that fact?
A. I would have remembered it or, indeed, at the meetings
where you were not present, if somebody else had referred
to you, then I would have made a particular note of
remembering what was said.

MS. STEEL: The notes that -- can I just ask a question for the
judge?
