Day 260 - 11 Jun 96 - Page 10

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MS. STEEL: The notes that we have not got from 17th May, that
we asked for yesterday, Mrs. Brinley-Codd has indicated
that they should be arriving some time today, but it would
be helpful if we could know when, because they are the kind
of first introduction to Mr. Bishop.

MR. RAMPTON: Can I say something about that? We do not have
the notes, never have had, because we do not rely on
17th May, and we do not deploy any evidence in relation to
17th May. Your Lordship has asked -- or ordered us,
I should say -- to disclose the notes. We do not have the
notes, but what I do have is the Kings report for that
date. But I would just like to have the opportunity of
looking through it. I mean, as far as I know, it is
complete, but if I can just -- I am just starting to do it
now, if I can do it now. Then I will distribute copies
certainly by the five-minute break this morning.

MS. STEEL: (To the witness) When you typed up your notes,
after dictating them, did you add parts as you were typing
them, or was it just straight typing up the notes from the
       dictation?
       A. The reports were compiled from the dictated notes I had
made, plus anything else that I might remember that was
prompted by listening to the dictated notes.

  Q. So, some parts might have been added later as you were
making your notes, typing the notes?
       A. Yes. The report was not compiled on the dictaphone as
it appears on the written page, no.

  Q. Because some of your reports are dated the day following
       the meeting?
       A. Most of them would be, I would think, because they
would actually be typed the following morning.

  Q. So, some of detail would be what you remembered the
following day and added to the report?
       A. Yes.

  Q. So, you were given descriptions of myself and Mr. Morris?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Was there any particular reason given for that?
       A. No.

  Q. You were not told that we were core members or ring
       leaders, or anything like that?
       A. I was given no indication of your role or even, indeed,
       if you had one.

  Q. They just said, "These two people go to these meetings"?
       A. Yes.

  Q. So they did not give you any reason why they were giving
you the two names of myself and Mr. Morris?
       A. No. I was simply told to pay attention, if you were
