Day 272 - 02 Jul 96 - Page 09

remember bringing copies, certainly not a large number of
       copies, myself.

  Q. Right. So it is possible there could have been a few
       there?
       A. It is possible that there could have been a few there,
yes, yes. I mean, I do not think I even brought the -- did
the stall that year, I was not on the stall. I did not put
the leaflets myself. I was too involved in doing other
things. I certainly do not remember seeing piles of fact
sheets. In fact, there were not piles of fact sheets left
by then. I mean, that was a fact. They had dwindled
away. There were not many left by October of '89, they
       had almost run out.

  Q. Okay.
       A. Veggies were there as well, so they probably brought
some of their version. I mean, they were there on the day.

  Q. Okay. Now if you turn to page 37 of the notes, which
should be the notes of 23rd November 1989?
       A. Yes.

  Q. It says in the middle paragraph that:

"Paul Gravett has said that he is going to write and
publish a pamphlet on the facts against McDonald's although
no date was to be given as to when he expected this to be
       finished"?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Then it goes on to say:

"This is expected to be a full and lengthy pamphlet as
opposed to the leaflets which they currently have."

Later on there are actually references to you going to
       write a leaflet as well?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Do you remember what the situation was over this year?
       A. Yes. I mean, as I was saying earlier, by the end
of '89 the fact sheet had almost run out. We had a few
copies left in the office that we kept back, what we called
library copies, and from time to time, perhaps, some people
might bring some in that they had found. We would
sometimes say, like, to people " If you have got any fact
sheets at home, please bring them in because we are running
       very low on them".

I was also concerned though at this time that we should
maybe update the fact sheets in some way. Not because I
thought the information in the fact sheet was incorrect,
but simply that, you know, there had been some
developments. I mean, we were talking about over three
years since it had been written by this stage and, for
instance, in the intervening period the film Jungleburger
has been shown, the film about destruction of tropical
rainforests, and we had a copy of that by then, and I
thought that this was additional, you know, evidence
