Day 272 - 02 Jul 96 - Page 18

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just pause a moment. They are 162, although
it has got at the top "report date", but they are in the
       first person singular.

MS. STEEL: That starts at 162, does it?

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: 162, yes.

MS. STEEL: I will just number mine. Okay. If you go to page
163, this is about a list of stalls having been prepared by
Jane and Charlie and of which groups were invited to have
the stalls and various members either objected or agreed to
individual organisations being invited. Dave Morris
objected to any organisation that was a business but had to
compromise when it came to the beer stall.
       A. Yes.

  Q. In his statement Mr. Bishop actually goes further and says
that you, myself and Mr. Morris were the ones participating
the most in the discussion about which organisations should
be invited. Do you have any comment to make about that?
       A. Well, I mean, I do not really remember the meeting too
well. I think everyone who was present who had been
involved in the group for some time would have -- we would
have talked about it. I mean, there was certainly no,
there would have been no sort of idea of, you know, other
people telling other people what to do or who should have
come. It would have just been a group discussion. And
obviously Joan and Charlie, as they had prepared the list,
in a way had, you know, the biggest input into it, I would
       say.

  Q. Right.
       A. That is where the original list came from.

  Q. There is also reference on this page to a picket of
McDonald's restaurants in Seven Sisters Road on Saturday
4th August. Do you know who that picket was organised by?
       A. To my recollection again it was organised by Hackney
and Islington Animal Rights. That was one of the two or
three McDonald's that the group regularly demonstrated
outside, had been doing for a number of years, Hackney and
Islington. Jane of course would have just brought it up,
like, as I said earlier, we did bring things up.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: When you said that you regularly
demonstrated, you mean Hackney and Islington?
       A. Yes, I do, yes.

MS. STEEL: Right. Go on to 26th August?
       A. The 26th?

  Q. The notes of Frances Tiller.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which date?

  MS. STEEL: 23rd August.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: 184A I have got them as.
