1 McSpotlight, 228 was the statement by the McLibel
2 defendant's second anniversary of the trial and I am not
3 going to -- I am going to call that second anniversary
4 statement. I will not take time to write in the others
5 now, but if one becomes 229, 230 and 231. The main purpose
6 of this is that we are all working on the same numbering.

8 MS. STEEL: If I could just bring up a couple of things relating
9 to what happened yesterday.

11 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

13 MS. STEEL: One is just that yesterday I was asked about the
14 1989 programme and the "10 things you did not know about
15 McDonald's" chart, which is in tab 39 page 102 -- 1988,
16 sorry, yes. Thank you, Mr. Rampton, you are right.

24 MR. RAMPTON: That is pink 1A, my Lord.

26 MS. STEEL: Yesterday I said, "I did not write the fact sheet
27 neither did Paul. I presume he did the programme although
28 I do not know to be honest." Then I said, "So whether Paul
29 if he wrote this programme had the same thing in mind as
30 the person who had written the fact sheet I don't know." I
31 now understand that in fact this was something that was
32 sent over from America. Obviously, I cannot personally
33 give evidence about that, but certainly, in respect of what
34 I said yesterday, that was just me making a supposition
35 about whether or not he had actually written that, so. The
36 reference from yesterday's transcript is page 8 line 34.
37 The answer starts, "I presume he did the programme although
38 I don't know to be honest." In respect of that particular
39 part of it.

41 MR. JUSTICE BELL: The effect of that is that you said you did
42 not know.

44 MS. STEEL: Yes, okay. The other matter which I said I would
45 look up last night is the reference for the thing about the
46 transcript scandal. I do not know whether you still have
47 that document available?

50 reference about that?

52 MS. STEEL: The actual reference is day 147, page 31, line 47 it
53 starts on. The only thing which is not there is the word
54 "people" which appears in square brackets, and that is
55 because I think Mr. Rampton was cut off in mid sentence.
56 It has got "like minded" and then "dot dot dot" or he may
57 have actually said it in court and we heard it but it did
58 not come out on the transcript, but that is not exactly the
59 most important point because he is not going to be talking
60 about anything other than people, so.
