The Coming of Age Festival takes place on January 15. It's Japanese name is "Seijin no hi". All young people that turn 20 years old are celebrated on this day. The age of 20 is an imporatant age because it is considered the age at which one becomes an adult. The young adults are now permitted to vote, drink, and smoke.
