Amiga Pinball History
1985 was the year one verion of the Amiga was developed to its end and first sold on the market. The Amiga was the a1000, don't ask me why the a1000 was before a500. It took some time for the Amiga to become what all Amiga users remember it as, which probably is that the Amiga was the computer most people used 85 -90 (the PC wasn't very widely used). In 1987 the Amiga reached out to the homes in a big scale, everyone started getting Amigas. It was because of the release of the a500. After the a500 the Amigas name just grew and grew, games continued coming. Some pinball was released, but not in any bigger scales or any better for that part. But then seven years after the Amiga first hitted the market....
1992, remember that year. It was and still is the year Pinball Dreams was released. When it arrived in March everyone who had thought pinballs only could be played in the real life changed their mind. Digitall Illusions had released Pinball Dreams!
After Pinball Dreams was released Digital Illusions (DI) made their next hit only half a year later in September, it was Pinball Fantasies. Pinball Fantasies was and still is one of the best Pinball Simulations. It had such perfect feeling and challenging layout that it reached top lists all over the world and stayed their long. What had been so great about PD was the feeling, graphics and scrolling table. Fantasies had all that, just ten times more of it. 3 year later after the relase of dreams and fantasies came the third pinball in DI's famous pinball trilogy. The game that many people love, and as many people disslike, Pinball Illusions (1995). The graphics, sound and feeling had improved quite a bit. The same time it was released for the Amiga it was released for the PC. Things change, the pc was on the way to take over the computer market.
I don't know much about the other pinball that came for the Amiga but some I know of are: |
