Rock'n'Ball (nintendo)

rock'n'ballWow, I love this one. Well the physics and all are nothing to talk about. But the table themes and all is really fun, not realistic but fun! There are four playing styles, listed below.

  • Pinball
  • Billiard Style "hit the hole" Coin pinball
  • Battle Flipper
  • Sport Pinball
    - Pinball
Pinball This is more traditional pinball style pinball. A not so fun table (at least I found it not that exiting). But it is the most normal table, with bumpers, targets, lock holes and so. Don't get me wrong, it is very simple... But I'm not the one to judge it, only tried it quickly.

CoinWell actually I had no Idea what to call this table or playing style. As you see on the picture to the left you are supposed to launch the ball and make it stay in those holes on the table. You also bet on how well you will perform. There is also a number of different styles to play the table. Lots of balls, hit certain holes and so on. Fun Idea, works rather good.
    - Battle Flipper
The probably only reason I loved this pinball so much. I have never seen a real two player pinball simulation before (think there is one real). This is how it works, simplified:

batlle pinball view You stand on one side of the pinball and the opponent on the other. The table is raised so it tilts upwards for you and the same for the opponent. You then try to play the ball to the other side and if the opponent drains the ball you score a point.

There are three different battle tables: Bomber, Attack and Thunder.

    - Sport Pinball
Two rather good tables. They are similar in some ways to those ice-hockey games you can but where you pull different, eh, strings to move the plastic players after predefined paths on the table. Here each player have a goalkeeper and one flipper.

The basic playing is like in battle flipper, you try to get the ball over to the opponents side plus that you here try to make a goal (basically the same, the opponent must drain his ball). To your help you have a flipper on the opponents playing half, it can be moved sideways over the table and rotated to hit the ball. Oh, in order for you to get the ball to the other side your goalkeeper must kick it over!
