After having run ProPinball Timeshock! quite happily on my 486 machine (an AMD CPU overclocked at 150 MHz) for several weeks I decided to install it on my 500 MHz Alpha machine running NT 4.0 with service pack 3 and FX!32 version 1.2 installed.Yes, Timeshock! runs on the Alpha, but at 16 bit color depth it's unplayable fast, even at 1280x1024 and almost all options set to maximum required computing power. On the other hand, at 24 bit color depth Timeshock! on the Alpha is not much faster than on my 486. Is there someone out there who came around the problem of far too fast operation on an Alpha with FX!32 at 16 bits per pixel? Are there other Alpha users, who would like to have a *native* Alpha version of Timeshock --- maybe the developers would provide one if there is more than a single user? Cheers, scr
