Subject: Re: HELP directX Pinball Question

: DirectX problems can be a big pain in the ***. I have problems whenever I have to reinstall Full Tilt (the first one). It always writes DirectX 2 over DirectX 5. Not all games will give you the option of deciding which version of DirectX you will be getting (gee.. thanks).
: So, after I install Full Tilt I shut down the computer, install DirectX 5 and the display update (you can get it from Microsoft's site) and reboot again. Usually works without any problems. I would recommend upgrading your version of DirectX from 4 to 5, as it seems more stable than earlier versions (DirectX 3 was a nightmare).
: I'm also using the version of DirectX 5 that you get of Microsoft's site, instead of one bundled with a game. I don't know if it makes a difference, but it doesn't hurt....
: Good luck!
