Subject: Re: BRUSA & Pro Series
: : I've heard, there will be two pinballs from Propinball Series in 1999,but I haven't heard about themes of them.According to Empire's website (last time I checked), they had a 1999 UK release schedule [http://www.empire.co.uk/mediabase_content/release.schedule/index.htm] and it had "Pro Pinball: Steam" listed for April and "Pro Pinball 5" listed for either October or November (I think). Strangely, now, either it isn't fully loading on my computer, or else the section just after "1999 UK Release Schedule" isn't there anymore. Strangely, there wasn't a 1999 _US_ release schedule ever, at least that I could tell. I talked to someone at Empire when I pre-ordered BRUSA (Pre-ordering after a game has already been released? Only in America, friend. :) ). In a nutshell they said that expecting only one Pro Pinball game a year would be most likely more accurate. They also said that they were considering getting licensed stuff (either real pinball tables or just licensed ideas [like Sierra with Nascar]) for a Pro Pinball game, but it was still just "talk" right now. They also explained about how when you get a product liscense, then you have to have people from the "liscened" company having their say in things, which could make it more "compromising" for the designers. Personally, I'd rather that they save the money and keep making the games the way they have been. It ain't broke, don't fix it, right? :-) But, if you like the idea of real machines being "Pro-Pinballed" or of some other specific theme, I'm sure they'd want to hear it! (I admit, I think it would be neat to have some "real-life" machines simulated [really well], and Empire's the best at PC Pinball, but.... I don't know, let someone else do it, I guess. Let Pro Pinball add the innovation in design, instead of "just having the name sell the product". ... Just my opinion.) : My vote is for an original table with a carnival or circus theme. At this point though I'll just be happy when BRUSA finally reaches our shores; er, stores. Interested in what themes others would like to see. For me, I'd like... hmm... I don't know. Even though I haven't played BRUSA yet, I like the idea of a more "fun" theme than a "serious" one. Otherwise, my thoughts are to let the designers surprise us.
