The Sixth BOS Table
Original Publishing Date (y/m/d): 1998-11-26

Originally Balls of Steel (BOS) was meant to include a table with a voodoo theme, though that table was dropped and replaced with Duke Nukem. Wildfire (the developers of bos) are now planning to release this table under the name "Devil's Island". I asked Joel Finch a couple of questions about this release!

How are you planning to do the release, as an add on for people who have already bought the full version, shareware, or how?

At the moment, we're planning for it to be available via Internet download, from one of the online software places, for a small price. It will be compatible with BOS (ie. it will show up in the BOS menu) but you won't have to own the full version of BOS to play it - it will run independently if necessary. The distribution plans aren't settled, and may change if we work out any better arrangements.

Any brief details about the theme apart from it beeing based on voodoo stuff?

You're a shipwreck survivor washed up on an island of terror. One of the mission sequences involves collecting various ingredients for a potion to destroy the zombies. There's five different multiball modes so far, ranging from two balls to five balls.

Are you going to rework/improve the physics etc anything?

There will be some modifications in this area, as well as improvements in the graphics and lighting quality (this is already visible to some extent in the most recent table picture).
