At http://www.gamersguide.com/cgi-bin/list/gam.891810671.749.html an article was recently published informing about this pinball.

According to the gamersguide article JDP is the first of many Pin-Ball Games Limited products that are to come. The article tells us that "JD has been developed via a new generation Pinball engine plus an associated editor that replaces even the all conquering Tilt engine from NMS with its advances in Dotmation and enhanced gameplay". Well most of us know that it doesn't take much to overcome the outdated Tilt! (Hyper 3d Pinball) engine and its dmd which frankly is ugly.

The article contains a qoute where Pin-Ball Games Paul Tressie says: "We customise a pinball table taking elements of the 'license' and create a completely new and original game around it. We create the game logic and game rules as a base to work from and then add to this by enhancing the table's graphical feel with lighting and special effects ensuring that the 'licence' is not compromised."

As I understand it the Judge Dredd Pinball simulation is a sort of "license" of the real Judge Dredd Pinball. Parts of the real table has been copied and reproduced in the simulation, other bits are totally new but still based on the JD theme. And we have apparently a number of licenses to look forward too. I hope to find out more about this company and to try out the pinball sometime soon.
