September 1997 Editorial Original Publishing Date (y/m/d): 1997-09-01 Hmm, ops, new month which means a new editorial, today is the first (ok, so it is the third :) of September. What have we got to look forward to this month in the way of pinballs? Stupid question, the timeshock! release in US has been said to occur this month. That was said in June so it might be incorrect but let's hope that it is not. Otherwise nothing has really been said about Addiction Pinball or Balls of Steel which I suppose is the two most eagerly awaited pinballs at the time. The pinball wizards (co. producers of BoS) page which has been featuring a development page for the last month or so says that BoS is basically finished, just the final touch remains, that was said 97-08-08 so... Still I think it is unlikely it gets out this month, we haven't even seen the shareware version yet (which is supposed to get out before the game) !!! And since any release date you hear always should be counted + 1 month, it might be less optimistic to see end September or somewhere in October as a date BoS will get out :) What ells then, well 21st Century seem to be coming up with quite a lot of interesting things. First there is the upgrade patch for their pinball editor Pinball Construction Kit (Pinball Builder), then the totally new version PCK2 and the finally a new 2D Scrolling Pinball by the name, Electronic Pinball. The new sierra pinball 3dup3: the lost continent is still not out, been trying to get a interview with the programmers of it, but as always it is a long way to get hold of their email or get in contact with them. Still haven't heard anything about 2UP-Tilt!, strange that it is so quiet around it except for that one article in a computer mag. Well, not much more to be told right now... Have a pinballish month! |
