February 1998 Editorial Original Publishing Date (y/m/d): 1998-02-01 Hi! First the big thing, the WBP98 voting has been closed and the winner is ofcourse (at least to me) the all time favorite Pro Pinball: Timeshock! (it received about half of the votes send in). Second came Balls of Steel (half of half the votes t! got) and third the classic Pinball Fantasies with about fourth of the votes BOS got (I'm just trying to make the numbers easy to understand! :). Well, things are moving on, last month Interplay released their Star Trek Pinball in the US, hope it gets out in Europe too. ST is made by SCi Software, who either are the same people that made Tilt! / Hyper 3D Pinball or friends of them, because the ST pinball seems to be based on the same engine Tilt! used. That means the feeling and similar is bad... That is what I have heard. At least the pinball features the voices of some of the original actors in the series (TOS), hope they have the voices of them all in the pinball (kirk and spock especially). I hope to receive a copy asap, since I'm rather curious about the pinball even though it seems to be a lot like Tilt! in question of playability! One correction on last months editorial I belive I should point out here is that Electronic Pinball has not been released. I was rather sure it had been since I saw a review of it in one of those magazines that claim they don't review betas. It is likely though that the review was on the full version, because the pinball seems to be finished, the release has just been put on hold (which is to me a rather strange thing to do, but what do I know about marketing). One last thing then, the keyflip keyboard is late but it is on the way! In the end of Mars a shipment will reach France and those that have ordered the keyboard from the keyflip page (www.keyflip.com) will probably receive theirs sometime in the beginning of april. The keyflip will probably also be available for Mac, you just need some little box that you plug between the keyboard and the computer. Well, I'm all out of things to write, so until next month.... ...drink tea! |
