Last Gladiator V.9.7 Original Publishing Date (y/m/d): 1998-01-09 Developer: KaZe
A pc version of the Sega Saturn pinball Last Gladiator V.9.7 is under developement. To qoute: The pc version will feature exactly the same things as the sega version. The table view is about 49 degrees angle. The tables don't scroll, you have a full view of the field at all times (3d tables).
Comments from the people working with it: "The programmers have stress realism in this game. Physics of the pinball are as real as you can get, the player can use the "hugging" and "nudging" technique and if the player is not careful the game Tilts. It has a killer Soundtrack and it really takes Digital Pinball to another level."
Screenshots These are pictures of the Sega Saturn version of the pinball, I don't know exactly what they show, if it is the actual table view or not. At least you get an Idea of what the table layout in the pc version might be like, the viewing angle is quite similar to the real on. I don't know if you see the backbox when you play or if that is just something added to make the picture look cooler... Table descriptions The below descriptions are from the official Last Gladiator page at KAZe. They are intended for the Sega Saturn etc version of the pinball but that doesn't matter so much, they give you an idea of what the table themes etc will be about. Gladiators
"We who are about to Die Salute you!" It's the height of the ancient Roman Empire, and the slaves, trained as gladiators, battle in the arena for the entertainment of Roman citizens. To the victors, the skilled, and the lucky, go glory and freedom. To losers, goes a bloody end. It's time for to salute the Emperor and step into the arena. What awaits you? Glory...or death? You are a Gladiator fighting for your freedom in the Roman Coloseum. Is up to your skills as a warrior to survive and live victorious or die with shame. Not everything is against you, favours and bonuses are granted by the roman councelor if you show your bravery. But you better be prepared to face a number of adversaries at the same time during Multiball and Galdiator Show feautures. This playfield is fairly easy, good for flipper technique practice and beguinners. This table concedes ample opportunities for multiball play. Shoot the Coloseum which is located in the upper right portion of the play field. Continuing shooting the ramp using both left and right flippers. Rounds may be started freely using this strategy. Dragon Showdown
"Get ready for batlle, We'll conquer!" In the 17th century, Japan was torn by war between its individual holdings. Gradually, the smaller holdings collaspsed and were absorbed by the most powerful ones, until finally the country was divided into two major powers. Now the final battle has begun. The finest, most courageous samurai warriors and the Descendants of the Dragon have been summoned to fight on each power's behalf. As one of these wesome warriors, you must battle bravely and well. No blood no Honor!. The Shogun has oredered you to command his samurai army to conquer the land of the Rising Sun. The enemy is brave, are you ready to show that you are worthy to be called a Samurai Warrior?. This playfield is the hardest of all tables in Last Galdiators. The targets and rounds are very tricky and require high flipper, nudgging and hugging skills. It takes a real Samurai Warrior to master this table.
No need to worry about the third flipper until you get comfortable with it. In the beginning, work the bottom flippers to control the round start feature.
"Are you ready to fight for her?" It is the 16th century, the age of chivalry and honor. An evil mage has kidnapped the princess of a small Western Kingdom and imprisoned her in a cave. He also holds the kingdom's people as hostages. Will all be lost? Then out of the mists, a magnificent knight bearing a rose standard appears to rescue the princess and save the realm. You are the Knight of the Roses, and the fate of the kingdom is in your hands! Fighting the forces of evil can be dangerous. You better have good reflexes and flipper techniques if you want to clomplete all of the rounds. As a the Knight of The roses you'll have to reach the Necromancers castle that lies on top of the mountain. This evil man has mastered the techniques of black magic, making him a powerful ardversary, youâ•’ll rely on your friend theWizard in order to get extraball and mistery bonuses. This table is definitely a killer! It's easier to shoot the ball-lock at the center lane compared with shooting the round-start hole. Lock the ball often and build up points with multiball. Warlock
"Prepare to die" Judgment Day has arrived. The world awaits the return of the one known as Warlock - a grim-faced warrior bearing a bloody sword. Some call him Creator, others call him Destroyer, but no one knows for certain. The Warlock's true identity will become known once he pronounces his final Judgment. In the highlands of Scottland a battle is about to get started. Time is running short and Warlock is gattering his followers, you have to gather your tribesman to face him. The time is set at night, where the spirits and licantropuses come out, the fog surrounds the battle field and only a howling can be heard on the distance. Warlock table is fairly easy to play, but the targets are hard to get. I hope that you master your flipper technique allready.
It's easy to control the ball on this table because you can use its left and right ramp to pass to the opposite of the table. Shoot the ramps, alternately, to light multiball. Work the ramps to build up a high score. You can get a huge score with one shot on this table. You can get a billion points maximum with the Undertaker Jackpot in multiball.
