Originally a top-secret experiment by world-renowned humorologist Dr. Delbert Dingus, the original objective of the Amuse-O-Matic 2000 was to restore the ability to laugh to his esteemed associate, Dr. Buford U. Nerdbooger. Nerdbooger, whose sense of humor was accidentally removed with his tonsils at the age of 3, had been humorily impaired for most of his life. The experiment was a resounding success, and Nerdbooger went on to attain comedy fame and fortune. He now co-hosts a late-night television show with Jenny McCarthy, entitled "I'm Not Really A Dork, I Just Play One on TV" while Dingus went on to write Married With Children episodes.
