Short Summary

Ash was walking towards Viridian City with Pikachu in his hands. Pikachu had suffered badly with an incident with Spearows from last episode. Meanwhile, Junsar, a police officer at Viridian City was announcing the danger of a group of PokΘMon thiefs, when she noticed Ash. After checking Ash's ID from his PokΘDex, she rushed him to the PokΘMon Center where Pikachu was to be treated. After he made his phone calls to his Mom and Professor Oak, who claimed that the bird Ash saw from the end of the last episode was just a legend, Ash was greeted by the girl from last episode, who's name was Misty, holding a wrecked bike, caused by Pikachu's lightning attack last episode. After finding out Pikachu's injured, she quieted down.

Meanwhile, outside, two people were on a air balloon shaped like Meowth, a PokΘMon who happens to be the leader of the two. They were the PokΘMon thiefs. They threw in their PokΘMons into the PokΘMon Center. Then the two people and the cat came in introducing themselves.

To protect the world from devastation!
To unite all peoples within our nation!
To denounce the evils of truth and love
To extend our reach to the stars above
Jesse!
James!
Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!
Surrender now or prepare to fight!
That's right!

After several attempts at seeing if any of the PokΘBalls in the PokΘMon Center was able to fight, which they weren't, Ash rushed Pikachu away, although tripped. Pikachu was wakened, and when he saw the trouble, he called the rest of the Pikachus in the PokΘMon Center, and had them use a giant lightning attack onhad an encounter with Team Rocket, an infamous gang of evil PokΘMon Thiefs, in the Viridian City PokΘMon Center, who Pikachu beat easily with a bunch of other Pikachus. This wasn't too good for the PokΘCenter, as it got totally destroyed. Then, Ash, Pikachu, and new ally Misty headed for the Viridian Forest, where Ash encounters a Caterpie.
