-Pokemon-Related Stabbing-
By Garrett Friday, October 29, 1999 - 1:03 PM

Yes, folks, the horrible has happened, and most likely again. Here's the article involving this incident:

Pokemon Related Stabbing

Cher Jacek, a resource consultant at Elizabeth Ballantyne School in Montreal, Quebec, who was successful in pushing a ban on all Pokemon-related materials, feels vindicated after learning about a Pokemon-inspired knifing at nearby St.Gerard Elementary on Tuesday, October 26. A letter, written by Jacek and published in the Montreal Gazette, stated that "the desire for [Pokemon] cards has turned some children into thieves who steal from lockers and desks in a desperate effort to have more."
A ten-year-old Pokemon collector had a brand-new box of cards stolen right out of his hands on Monday by a twelve-year-old who immediately fled. The Pokemon hobbyist returned on Tuesday with his fourteen-year-old brother, confronted the thief, and demanded the cards be returned. The twelve-year-old pulled a knife from his pocket and stabbed the older brother in the shoulder, inflicting a cut that required four stitches. A nearby teacher wrestled the knife away.
Aside from being suspended from school indefinitely, the young assailant is facing charges of armed assault and possession of a weapon. The names of all involved are protected under Canada's Young Offenders Act.

Now, this is quite un-groovy and sad. I hope that this school violence ends, but those Pokemon cards are just too cool to worry about stabbing someone over, you know? *huge sarcasm cloud floats above*
Until next time...

By Oddy Sunday, October 24, 1999 - 11:54 AM

-Uh-oh...-
By Garrett Wednesday, October 20, 1999 - 5:14 PM

Well, Slimu's mom has put a password on his computer to prevent him from spending too much time on it. I guess dat's just what happen...¼_¼
Anyway, this Team Rocket Week is turning out to be pretty lame. Basically, it's just a showing of random episodes. But, we do have the Pokemon League to look forward to! Well, at least the beginning of the Pokemon League eppies...

-Team Rocket's Rockin!-
By Garrett Saturday, October 16, 1999 - 8:02 AM

Today's episode, featuring Marowak, was one of my favorites. It had groovy battles and we got to see some new badges! But, it might just be because I'm bias towards Marowak...^_^
In related news, the Pokemon League episodes will begin next weekend. The League eppies will feature lots of great battles, including Ash's use of both Muk and Krabby!
And, adding up to next weekend's exciting events, we'll have a full week of Team Rocket! Joy!
Also, while Pokemone played a repeat at 8:30, I tuned into FoxKids to watch the first episode of Monster Rancher. It is quite odd, but also groovy in it's own way!

-Retraction - Satoshi's Journey-
By Slimu Friday, October 15, 1999 - 11:38 PM

A retraction! Oh no! Don't you hate dese? At least you get da correct information, rather than wrong info...Anyhow, my retraction is this: The new PokΘMon season in Japan does not star a new hero; it's still Satoshi (Ash). Instead, Satoshi starts a new PokMon League. Details...(Spoiler)
Satoshi returns to Masara Town (Pallet Town) from the Orange League, and finds Takeshi (Brock). Now, Takeshi returns with Satoshi and Kasumi (Misty) to start the new PokΘMon League, the Jouto League (Jolt League?). Kenji (Tracey), meanwhile, stays behind with Professor Okido (Oak) to study PokΘMon.
Now, Satoshi follows the Jolt League, which takes place in the locations of PokΘMon Gold/Silver, starting from Wakaba Town.
The new series also kicks off with a new Opening Theme song, titled "OK!", sung by Rika Matsumoto, the singer for all the past PokΘMon Theme songs, and the voice actress for Satoshi. Also, there's also a new ending theme titled "Nyaasu no Paatei (Meowth's Party)."
I'm really sorry for da confusion ^.^().

-Wipe dat sweat off your hands!-
By Garrett Friday, October 15, 1999 - 5:54 PM

IGN has given us info on a new hand grip for your N64 controller to soak up dat nasty sweat you get from gripping it hour after hour. And it does all of this while displaying dat little Pokemon logo. Personally, I think, "GROSS!", but der are some who need it...badly...

Got sweaty hands? Get your grip on Pokemon!

In other news, tomorrow, we get to see an eppy involving the journey to Indigo Platau, where Ash will meet a trainer with a Marowak (FINALLY!). Of course, you guys will have to see it before I reveal anything else...

-TRACEY!?!?-
By GonkJM Thursday, October 14, 1999 - 1:50 PM

Well, after a chat with Eric Stuart last night I discovered something rather disturbing... A question popped up about Kenji, the guy who replaces Brock after he leaves in epi. 83 (much to Eji's dismay). Well, Kenji's American name is, you guessed it, Tracey. According to Eric, this name "It's like...you know?" Very disturbing indeed...

-Another PokΘmon Contest?-
By Opty Wednesday, October 13, 1999 - 8:58 PM

Yes, another pokΘmon contest. It's the PokΘmon Snap "Take Your Best Shot" Contest. What you do is print out your best photo (at Blockbuster), put it on an entry form, and send it to Nintendo. You can download an entry form at the official PokΘmon website. Also, in other news, PokΘmon Yellow is 5 days away for shipping, and 6 or 7 days for being in stores.

-Rockin!-
By Garrett Monday, October 11, 1999 - 4:37 PM

Today, we got to see a new episode of Pokemon, this one involving Bruno of the Elite Four. Personally, I think this was a better of these "stalling" episodes, leading up to the showdown at the Pokemon League.
On another note, while surfing the web these past few days, more and more sites, including the UPNetwork (http://www.upnetwork.com) are displaying the news of Slimu involving the new episodes showing in Japan later this year. I guess the message isn't clear that the news was not meant to be taken. Oh well...c'est la vie ¼_¼

-Mew and Fossil-
By GonkJM Sunday, October 03, 1999 - 6:56 AM

Well its official, there is no Mew in Fossil! WOTC will be releasing it as a promotional card through the PokΘmon League. Lucky for me, I'm in the PokΘmon League! ^_^ So as soon as I get my Mew you can be sure I'll give you the stats and such. By the way, my local store will be getting Fossil in on Tuesday. But as far as I know most stores will not be getting Fossil until October 10th. Of course you can order it online at http://store.wizards.com (although I think they're sold out >.<) And last, but not least, I wrote an anaylysis, go check it out!

-A New Revelation-
By Slimu Saturday, October 02, 1999 - 9:25 PM

Everyone has heard the rumors. "PokΘMon is ending in Japan!" "PokΘMon is losing fame in Japan!" "PokΘMon is dying!" BAH. You know, some sources these days are simply unreliable. However, I can guarentee that I WILL be reliable.
PokΘMon is not ending in Japan. In fact, due to the upcoming release of Gold and Silver in Japan, its popularity is just picking up again! But even that doesn't answer the question "Is the anime ending?"
And the answer is technically No. If you want to spoil yourself, keep reading. Now, Satoshi's (Ash's) journey has just ended. Yup, his journey ended.
What does that leave us? Well, the hero of PokΘMon Gold and Silver of course! On October 14, 1999, a new PokΘMon series will begin in Japan. It's going to star Hiroki, the hero of PokΘMon Gold and Silver. The first episode of the new series is titled "Wakaba Town! The blowing wind town." The following episodes are "Ruukii's Chikoriita," and "Fierce
Fighting! Herakurosu vs. Pinsir."
Let's look forward to a whole new generation of PokΘMon!
