Las barras blancas en las alas, las partes ventrales amarillas y la presencia de "espejuelos" distinguen a este vireo de hßbitos lentos. Tama±o: 13-15 cm.; peso: 15-21 g. Audio (M. Oberle). Anida en los bosques del este de AmΘrica del Norte, invernando del sur de MΘxico hasta el oeste de Venezuela y en Cuba, las Bahamas y las islas Caimßn. Un visitante raro en las ßreas costeras, los humedales y las arboledas de Puerto Rico (por ejemplo, el 18 de diciembre de 1984 y el 25 de octubre de 1998 en Vieques; el 15 de enero de 1998 en el Bosque Estatal Los Tres Picachos; el 22 de diciembre de 2001 en el Bosque Estatal Cambalache; Aguirre en 1992; 2002 y 2003 en El Yunque y anualmente entre 1996 y 2001 en Ciales). Ya que esta ave es difφcil de ver en la vegetaci≤n tupida, bien pudiera ser mas com·n de lo que se piensa. TAXONOMÍA: PASSERIFORMES; VIREONIDAE. |
