Using the CD

The Total Gamer CD can be used in almost any computer, but the software contained on the disc is for Windows operating systems ONLY. We cannot guarantee the CD will operate as expected on every system, despite adherence to Windows compatibility.

Loading the Disc

This CD is set to autostart. On insertion, the disc will automatically load the Terms & Condition of Use disclaimer page. If the CD doesn't autostart, you can manually load the menu by running the file called start.htm in the root directory using Windows Explorer.

How to use this CD

The navigation bar on the left is comprised of several sections. When clicked, the buttons will take you to the appropriate page. The sections on this disc include: demos, desktop, free games, trailers, utilities, contents and help.

Installing Software

To install the software follow these simple steps. First, click on the download link. This should bring up a dialog box asking you to save (the dialog box may take awhile to appear depending on the size of the file, so please be patient). Save the file to your computer, choose a place where you can easily access. Afterwards, locate the file you saved to your PC, and click on the file to start the installation program. Follow the instructions and soon you'll be using the application.

Some files are compressed and will need an appropriate extraction utility. Winzip and many other helpful utilities are located on the utilities page.

Many of the files are either shareware, demos/trials or freeware. Shareware means that you get to try out the program, and if you like it you pay a small fee for it. Demos/Trials usually allow the user to try out the program for a certain period or have limitations. Game demos usually have certain levels to try out, so you can have a taste of the full game. Freeware programs are free to use, but the copyright belongs to the author.

Playing the Trailers

To watch the trailers you will need the right media player. Windows Media Player will play most of the movies, but for .mov files, you will need a Quicktime player. Click on the "Watch the Trailer" link to watch the cool game movies.
