The update

It can be useful to understand exactly what happens during the update. Here are the steps in the order in which the computer performs them. This list might not be complete, but it should give you an idea of how the update works.

  1. NPC diplomacy is updated
  2. Hanging spells are loaded
  3. All moves by all nations are incorporated, and NPC moves are made
  4. Technology is updated
  5. Spy is updated
  6. Magic is updated
  7. Revenue is calculated of money, metal, jewels and food
  8. Civilian migration occurs
  9. Battles are resolved
  10. Sector capture is handled
  11. Diplomacy is updated (nations become ``met'')
  12. Armies are reset. Mages are disbanded if maintaince jewels are missing.
