The
video window in CamRunner is blank or black.
There
are several reasons why the video window may be blank.
- You
may have a faulty camera and/or capture card.
- The
camera may still have the lens cap on it.
- You
may have a bad wire and/or connection between your
computer and your camera.
- Your
camera or capture card may not be installed
correctly.
- Your
Video for Windows™ drivers may not be working
properly. In this case you may need to reboot the
machine or reinstall the drivers.
Try
selecting Video on the menu bar in CamRunner and
clicking on Video Format or Video Source.
Select the appropriate driver or try closing CamRunner
and opening the card manufacture's software.
What
happens if the Dial-up connection or the FTP session
fails?
If
either Dial-up or FTP connections fail CamRunner will
stop trying to send an image and attempt the transfer
again during the next scheduled send time. If it still
does not successfully transfer an image check the
settings of your Dial-up networking account in Windows
and make sure the Save Password button is checked.
Note:
CamRunner uses the Dial-up networking built into Windows
95. Check to make sure that this information is correct.
You can also double-click on your selected dial-up
account under Dial-up networking in Windows and make a
connection to confirm the connection information is
valid.
For FTP
errors check the Account Profile section inside
the Transfer Entry dialog box in CamRunner. Make
sure you have a valid Host name, User name
and Password that gives you access to the FTP
server. Under the Remote File Information section
also inside the Transfer Entry dialog box make
sure you've entered a correct path for the
Directory.
What
if I don't have a place to send an image? (i.e. an FTP
directory)
One
of the requirements for a webcam system is that you have
an Internet access account and an FTP account in which to
send your image.
The
image seems to send correctly. Why can't I see
it?
Make
sure that the image you captured was sent to the right
remote directory (see FTP failures above.)
You can
also open the log file with Microsoft Notebook to
determine if CamRunner did indeed send the image.
Check
to see if the CASE of the image name matches, (i.e.,
image.jpg or image.JPG) in both the Transfer Entry
dialog box as well as the html tag you are
using on your website.
