Help for Editing Calendar Events

Creating Calendar Events

This describes the features of creating and editing entries for the calendar. It covers the features common to the date specific, periodic or duration entry forms. It also comments on navigation between the various edit forms.

All Calendar Entries have the following features.
Calendar Text The actual text to be displayed on the calendar is entered into this field. Multiple lines can be entered. The text will wrap as needed to fit on the calendar display. However, you can force new lines by using the enter key as you create your text in the entry form.
Border Checking this will cause a thin border line to surround the entry on the Block Calendar display.
Start Time The drop down boxes can be used to select the time of the event. The time will be displayed on the calendar. Events that have a time assigned to them will be sorted in time order when displayed on the calendar. When the AM/PM is not added to a specified time, it will be assumed as follows: 7:00 to 11:59 is considered to be AM. 12:00 to 6:59 is considered to be PM.
End Time The end time conveys information to the user, but is not considered when sorting the events.
Popup or URL This field can contain popup text or a URL link that is associated with the Calendar Text . Entries that begin like http://www.brownbearsw.com or simply www.brownbearsw.com will create a URL link on the calendar. Text beginning with anything other that http:// or www will cause a popup window link to be created.
Color Select A background and text color can be defined for every event that is displayed on the calendar. These values can be typed in as HTML hexadecimal values, or you can click on the Color Select button to get a popup color chart for selection. There is one special entry that is named Default. When this name is used, the text and background colors will be assigned to the default colors used by the calendar.
Submit, Reset, and Cancel The Submit Button on the form, will submit all entries on the form. For example, you could change some text for existing entries and add a new entry at the same time. Any Submit Button clicked on the form will apply changes to the entire form. The Cancel Button will return to the calendar display, and no changes will be applied. The Reset Button will return all entries on the form to their original value.
A General Comment All entry forms have one or more locations to create new events. After you submit the form and then return to the entry screen you will always have additional entry locations to create more events.
Navigating between date specific, periodic or duration entry forms.
From all entry forms you can navigate to any other entry from. The row of numbers corresponds to the specific days of the month.
