As part of installation, SurfinCheck Server is added to the startup folder so that it is automatically invoked upon boot-up of the machine. This setup is important to keep so that in case of a system failure on the gateway machine, SurfinCheck will automatically be brought up as the operating system recovers.
SurfinCheck Server has a single screen, and its setup
and configuration is performed through the SurfinConsole.
The SurfinCheck Server display screen, at the bottom of the server window is used to display error messages. Pressing the Clear button will clear up the display screen of the server.
SurfinConsole is used to set up and maintain the security policy, to setup and control the SurfinCheck Server, and to view the log and the reports. Unlike SurfinCheck Server, there is no need to run the SurfinConsole on a continuous basis. The main display of the SurfinConsole is the SurfinConsole toolbar.
