File Manager Shows Garbled Date for Year 2000 or Later |

SYMPTOMS
Microsoft Windows File Manager displays an incorrect date if the file is
created with a date of 01-01-2000 or later.
RESOLUTION
Windows for Workgroups 3.11
This issue is resolved by the following updated file for Windows for
Workgroups 3.11 only:
Winfile.exe version 3.11 dated 3/6/97 3:11a 170,496 bytes
To install this update, follow these steps:
- Download the Wfwfilup.exe file from the Microsoft Software Library
to an empty folder.
- In File Manager, double-click the Wfwfilup.exe file to expand the
Winfile.exe file it contains.
- Quit Windows.
- Rename the Winfile.exe file in the Windows folder to Winfile.old.
- Copy the new Winfile.exe file to the Windows folder.
- Restart your computer.
Windows 3.1
This issue is resolved by the following updated file for Windows 3.1
only:
Winfile.exe version 3.10 dated 10/14/97 3:10a 146,864 bytes
To install this update, follow these steps:
- Download the W31filup.exe file from the Microsoft Software Library
to an empty folder.
- In File Manager, double-click the W31filup.exe file to expand the
Winfile.exe file it contains.
- Quit Windows.
- Rename the Winfile.exe file in the Windows folder to Winfile.old.
- Copy the new Winfile.exe file to the Windows folder.
- Restart your computer.
