Align to Camera Button

GENERATE/FH5232262.gif

Lets you align a camera to a selected face normal.

From this flyout, you can also choose Align, Align Normals, Place Highlight, or Align to View.

Reference

Align to Camera works similarly to the Place Highlight function, except that it operates on face normals instead of angle of incident, and occurs on mouse up instead of dynamically acting during the mouse drag. Its purpose is to let you align a camera viewport to a specified face normal.

How To

To use Align to Camera

  1. Select the camera used for the viewport you want to align.
  2. Choose Align to Camera.
  3. In any viewport, drag the mouse to choose a face.
  4. The chosen face normal appears as a blue arrow beneath the cursor.

  5. Release the mouse to perform the alignment.
  6. The camera is moved so that the selected normal is centered in the camera viewport and faces the camera.
