Combustion Example
This example describes how to set up a campfire effect for a 100 frame animation.
To create a campfire Combustion apparatus:

Click Helpers in the Create panel and choose Atmospheric Apparatus from the sub-category list.

Click Sphere Gizmo.

Drag in the Top viewport to define an apparatus radius of about 20 units.

Check the Hemisphere check box in Sphere Gizmo Parameters.

Click Non-Uniform Scale. Click Yes in the warning dialog (this warning doesn't apply to atmospheric gizmos), and scale the apparatus 250% along its local Z axis only.
The next page shows how to set the Combustion atmosphere parameters and assign the apparatus to the effect.
Example Combustion model and rendered effect
You can model logs, embers, and rocks around the base of the apparatus.
To create the campfire Combustion atmosphere:

Choose Rendering/Environment.

In the Atmosphere rollout, click Add and choose Combustion from the Add Atmospheric Effect dialog.

Click Pick Gizmo in the Combustion Parameters rollout and click the Sphere Gizmo apparatus in the scene.

Set the following parameters in the Shape and Characteristics areas --

Flame Type = Tendril
-
Stretch = 0.8
-
Flame Size = 18.0
-
Flame Density = 30.0
-
Turn on Animate and advance to the end of the animation.

Set the following parameters in the Motion area --

Phase = 300.0
-
Drift = 200.0
-
Leave all other parameters at their default setting.
Combustion does not cast any light in the scene. You must create lights if you want to simulate illumination from the Combustion effect.
