Material Effects Channel

GENERATE/B_FXCHAN2.gif

Tags a material as a target for a Video Post effect based on the G-buffer channel.

For example, say you want a material to glow wherever it appears in the scene. The material is in the Material Editor and the glow effect is a filter in Video Post (LenZFX Glow).

First, you set up your Video Post queue so that the glow filter operates on effects channel #1. Use the Material Effects Channel button to give the channel an ID number of 1, then assign the material to objects in the scene in the usual way. When you render the scene in Video Post, the objects assigned the material are rendered with the glow effect.

An ID of zero means that the effects channel is unused. To use the channel, assign an ID from 1 to 15.

To save the channel data with the rendering, use the RLA (.rla) file format.
