RGB Tint Map

Selects the RGB Tint map type and adds it to the current material in the Material Editor sample window.

RGB Tint adjusts the value of the three color channels in an image.

For the RGB Tint map type, you can set or modify the following parameters:

R/G/B: Click one of the red, green, and blue color swatches to display the Color Selector to adjust the value of the specific channel. For example, if you want to reduce the amount of red in the image, click on the red color swatch and reduce the value in the Value slider. Or you could replace the red channel with blue by changing the hue slider.

Map: Displays the Material/Map Browser to select or create the map to be tinted.

How To

To create an RGB Tint map:

  1. Click a map button to assign a map.
  2. Choose RGB Tint in the Material/Map Browser, and then click OK.
  3. For RGB Tint, you specify the map to tint and how to tint it.

    The three color swatches represent the red, green, and blue channels of the map. Changing a color swatch adjusts the value of its associated color channel. For example, to reduce the amount of red in an image, click the red color swatch and reduce its Value. To replace red in the map image with blue, click the red swatch and change the channel's Hue to blue.

To choose the map:

The Browser appears to let you choose the map type.

To tint a color component:

  1. Click the R, G, or B color swatch.
  2. In the Color Selector dialog, choose a new color.
  3. The red, green, or blue value of each pixel in the underlying map changes accordingly.
