GLOSSARY
The extremes of the Shininess and Shininess Strength settings:
Top sphere: Shininess = 100, Shininess Strength = 100
Left sphere: Shininess = 50, Shininess Strength = 50
Right sphere: Shininess = 0, Shininess Strength = 0
A material’s shininess (or dullness) depends on the size and intensity of its specular highlight. In the Material Editor, the Shininess spinner affects the size of the specular area, and the Shin. Strength spinner affects the intensity of the shininess.
When Shininess Strength is too high, and Shininess is too low, you can get harsh backlights on your surfaces. The Soften option mitigates this.
