The Spice Girls declare support for Acorn

In a completely unexpected move, the Spice Girls, an immensely successful pop band with millions of followers world-wide, have declared their resolute support for Acorn computers. Last week, the band revealed that they used Acorn technology for the writing of their songs, and praised software such as Computer Concepts' Impression Publisher, on which initial copies of their lyrics were produced, and the ground-breaking music software Sibelius 7. Geri also mentioned that she rather enjoyed dabbling with Spacetech's Photodesk. Spacetech were unavailable for comment as we went to press.

The whole Spice squad were particularly impressed with the Internet facilities on their Acorn Risc PC systems. They said that the Argonet Voyager Internet Suite was ideal for handling their fan-mail, and for web-browsing. They said that it was easy to use, and offered all the facilities they required. Ginger Spice added, typically, "Girl Power!!!".

An Argonet representative, when questioned about Argo's involvement in the setting up of the Spice Girls' web site and the provision of network computers for the girls, commented, "as far as we're aware, you're the only person that has reported this problem".

The Spice Girls' StrongARM Risc PC is a standard model, available from Acorn dealers throughout the UK. The Spice Girls said that it's "a great spicy computer", agreed that its educational facilities were "wikkid", and that they would certainly recommend it to everybody, from the young to the old.

Peter Bondar, when informed of the group's announcement, commented, "I am sure the Spice Girls have made the right decision. Acorn's flexibility and innovative technology makes us the right choice, for pop stars or for anybody." Acorn marketing supremos were adamant that Peter's personal preference for the rock group Bon Jovi wouldn't prejudice Acorn's co-operation with the latest converts to state-of-the-art RISC technology.
