the world's No. 1 venue for the carpet business.

From 11 to 14 January (new: Saturday to Tuesday) the trade fair centre in Hannover will again be the international meeting place for the carpet and flooring business.
For the ninth time the annual DOMOTEX HANNOVER - with around 1,000 exhibitors (1996: 1,030) from all over the world - will present the very latest in industrially manufactured and hand-made carpets and rugs, textiles and flexible floor coverings, parquet and laminate flooring, fibres, yarns and products for application and installation technology.

The sequence of fairs featuring home interiors has now changed:

  • Home Textiles in Frankfurt (8 - 11 January 1997),
  • DOMOTEX HANNOVER
    followed by
  • the International Furniture Show in Cologne (13 - 19 January 1997).
The new date results in an overlap of one day with Home Textiles and only two days overlap with the Furniture Show instead of three. This alteration means that trade visitors from abroad will be able to plan their schedules so as to visit each of the fairs in sequence.

The retail trade and interior decorating businesses will also profit from the new date, as they will now have an entire weekend to spend at the fair.

Since its premiere in 1989 DOMOTEX HANNOVER has developed into the world's most important showcase for trends as well as the key business venue for orders. All the market leaders from the carpet business are there along with major importers and exporters to present their new collections and product developments to a high-calibre trade public. The number of registrations so far received points towards a net exhibition space of 89,000 m2. At the previous show in January 1996, a total of 33,000 trade visitors were recorded, around 48 percent of whom came from outside Germany. This above average proportion of international visitors corresponds to the number of international exhibitors at DOMOTEX, which with 637 companies made up 62 percent of the overall number of exhibitors.
