freebee VB Challenge

Following on from their highly succesful freebee VB, Winning Systems are now offering bare course projects that readers can pick up and attempt to complete and send into a tutor for review. 'Bare' meaning that each project omits any supporting courseware topics and so students have to rely on their own current skills and knowledge.

Feedback from past 'freebee VB' students have shown that:

(1) a high proportion are 'self-learners' but
(2) would welcome an option to enter a tutored Online course at a more advanced level.

The idea is that you can use these projects to assess your own proficiency levels and, if you later choose to, use this to enrol for single 'complete', fully supported projects at a suitable level and so avoid paying for earlier, more basic ones. A big bonus is the free, professional feedback that 'self-learners' don't normally have access to.

Winning Systems are continuing with the original 'freebee VB', but this will now only be available on a download basis whilst 'Challenge' is running.

Before installing the executable below you will have to register at the Winning Systems Site for a password. This is done via a simple form on the Winning Systems Web site, full details are given in the PDF file below. On the form you choose one of the projects offered and Winning Systems will respond with a password to enable you to open it from the cover disk. You can enrol for only one project at a time and only those readers that submit completed projects can have another bite at a more advanced project. Incidentally, novices will continue to have the option of enrolling for 'freebee VB Project 1' as before.

Welcome to Freebee VB Challenge.pdf

IMPORTANT: Once you have your password you must follow the next installation step.

When you install the freebee VB program the first window you will see is this one. Please leave the default path as C:\ (without a further folder name).

This will automatically unzip to the directory C:\Winsys
