Using Clip Gallery in stand-alone mode

Clip Gallery can be used without launching it through another Microsoft application. You might choose to launch it in stand-alone mode to:

• Browse for ideas or organize your clips.
• Add clips to Clip Gallery.
• Search for clips without launching another application.
• Add clips in a third-party application.

To launch Clip Gallery in stand-alone mode

• On the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, and then click Microsoft Clip Gallery. (If Clip Gallery is not on your Start menu, see Adding Clip Gallery to your Start menu.)

Note Some functions may not work or may work differently in stand-alone mode. For example, the Insert clip button will be dimmed, but you may be able to drag the clip or copy and paste it instead. If an icon is dimmed, check the tips on the Help topic corresponding to that icon to find an alternate function that will accomplish the same task.
