Project Planning and Management

Most project management packages are complicated enough to require specific training before the user is able to take full advantage of all their functions. This has resulted in project management being left for the most part in the hands of project management experts. OfficeTalk has been designed to allow the planning and tracking of projects with the minimum of fuss, and designed therefore with the user with no prior knowledge of project management in mind.

Projects can be broken down into tasks and sub-tasks, to which deadlines, priorities and classifications can be assigned, in the same way as other project management packages. With OfficeTalk, however, to plan a task the user need only drag it to the appropriate date. Perhaps the biggest drawback with using traditional project management systems is the difficulty in communicating the finished plan and objectives to the end-user. OfficeTalk overcomes this problem by simply putting the assigned tasks, with project notes, into an individual's task list.

The OfficeTalk user now has within their task list all the information necessary to complete a task. Once a task has been completed it can be marked as complete in the task list and the main project will automatically be updated. Users do not now need to understand the complexities of a Gannt chart or the objectives of the overall project to understand their assigned task.
