There are 4 CD-ROMs to
collect in the Kellogg’sPromotion of the "
Art Attack" range. Each one gives your child the ability to print
and make some fantastic paper-based items.
They will need to use other items to gain the maximum
benefit from these discs: paper safety scissors, PVA glue (or a glue
stick), a ruler,
pencils and other decorative items like glitter, newspaper cutting
and the like.
It is recommended that parental help is given as much
as possible when your child is performing these Art Attacks, especially
when
they choose to do something particularly messy.
If your child gets
stuck, encourage them to click on the “?” button
that appears on most screens. This will help them to figure things
out for themselves and hopefully learn in the process.
How to use
the CD-ROMs
1. Once the CD has been installed, there will
be a selection of introductory screens, which will lead to a general
warning screen.
This screen explains the difficulty rating of the art attacks and
details the additional decorative items which may want to be used.
2.
Then you will need to create a profile. Click on the “Create
new user” text and complete the boxes on the screen. You can
even change the colour of your appearance by clicking on the item
of clothing and then the colour from the palette.
3. Once you have
a profile created, click on your name and it will take you to the
studio menu. (You can choose to look at the text
menu as an alternative, by clicking on the “Change to text
menu” button.) You may select a place in the studio and watch
your character walk to that spot. To open an art attack sub menu,
select one of the coloured icons.
4. Once a coloured icon has been
selected, it will open up a sub menu, which will show a selection
of Art Attacks to make.
5. To choose
an Art Attack to make, simply click
on one of the images.
6.
You will now be taken to the workspace, with the Art
Attack ready
to be created.
7. You can choose from the selection of tools to decorate
your Art Attack. For help on each
item, click on the “?” button
and you will be guided around the workspace by the on screen help
function. 8. Once you are happy with your Art Attack you can save
it to your workbook. Here you can save up to 60 pieces of your
work. To save
to the workbook, click on “save” on the workspace and
you will then be asked to select a square to save your work to.
9.
To exit the program, click on the cross in a circle icon in the
top right hand corner on the sub menus.
